Central Highlands, Drumochter 4

Central Highlands, Drumochter 4

15 miles 6-10 hours

These Munros are just off the A9 and make a really good bag for beginners. Starting at the railway cottage, you’ll need to pass over the railway through the gates, remembering to close them behind you. The route begins on a solid track before veering off into a very wet bog ascent for your first Munro. From there, make your way south onto the saddle and start climbing the steep bank, turning back towards the face that looks over the A9. Continue back on yourself and follow a good path along the ridge to your third Munro. Descend into the valley, then climb up the north side of the final Munro. Finally, head east back towards the road, where you’ll once again cross the railway tracks, and follow the path on this side of the road north to return to the car park.

🚲 Bike and Hike: You could leave a bike at southern car park

🏕️ Wild Camp: Yes but remembering to keep off paths and away from road
