The Foundry Climbing Centre is an indoor climbing gym in Sheffield with a long history as one of the UK’s original climbing walls. It offers a mix of climbing disciplines — lead, top‑rope and bouldering — and caters to climbers from beginner to advanced. The venue also runs coaching, junior sessions and training areas. 

🥘 Food & Drink: On‑site café available inside the centre serving hot & cold drinks and light refreshments during opening hours. 

🅿️ Parking: On‑site parking available for customers; registration of your vehicle on arrival is required at reception. Free for customers. 

Gym / Climbing Wall

• Lead Climbing: 24 lead lines — routes requiring a 30 m rope (grades from f4 to f8b). 

• Top‑Rope Climbing: 22 top‑rope lines with a range of difficulties. 

• Auto‑Belays: 7 autobelays on vertical and overhanging walls (grades up to f7b). 

• Bouldering: Five circuits with approx. 110–120 problems across a range of grades. 

• Training Areas: Splatter boards, fingerboards, bars, gymnastic rings and other training equipment. 

• Full instruction, junior introduction sessions, social climbing and coached programmes available. 

Membership / Entry / Pricing

• Adult Single Entry: Typical rates advertised around £9 – £10 (off‑peak and peak vary). 

• Junior / Under‑18: Approx. £6.50. 

• Concessions / Students: Typically discounted entry with valid ID. 

• One‑off Registration Fee: ~£2 on first visit. 

• Instruction & Courses: Junior intro sessions (~£12) and coached sessions available. 

(Note: training programmes and advanced sessions like “Learn to Lead” are offered at additional cost.)

Monday – Friday: 10:00 – 22:00

Saturday – Sunday: 10:00 – 18:00 (some sources list Sunday until 20:00) 

Closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day; special holiday hours may apply.
